Tari Work Rajputi Poshak
Tari (also called treshing) is fine metallic thread-work drawn across the poshak in flowing lines and motifs — the craft that gives a Rajputi poshak its signature shimmer. Done in gold or real silver, tari work catches the light with every movement.
At The Grand Abhaneri, tari is laid by hand on a wooden adda, each line pulled taut by a master karigar. It is among the most time-intensive finishes we offer.

Questions, answered
What is tari work?
Tari (treshing) is fine metallic thread-work hand-drawn across the fabric in flowing lines and motifs. It gives the poshak its shimmer and is done in gold or real silver.
Is tari the same as zardozi?
They are related metal-thread crafts, but tari is the fine continuous line-work characteristic of Rajputi poshaks, while zardozi is broader raised embroidery. Many poshaks combine both.
Is real-silver tari worth it?
Yes for heirlooms — real-silver (asli-chandi) tari keeps its lustre for generations, where imitation metal dulls. It is how royal-family poshaks are made.
How do I care for tari work?
Store flat in the trousseau box, keep away from moisture and perfume, and dry-clean only with a specialist. Our care card ships with every piece.
Can I choose where the tari is placed?
Yes — density and placement are made to order. Discuss the design with our atelier on WhatsApp before you order.
